ART MOVIE / GUERRA E PACE… by Alterazioni Video
Tues. 12th February 2019, h 9 pm
With the presence of Alterazioni Video
Auditorium Piazza Libertà - Bergamo IT
curated by Contemporary Locus and Lab 80 film
On Tuesday February 12th Contemporary Locus and Lab 80 film present the fourth Art Movie, a path through images by Alterazioni Video to present their Turbo Film, a cinematographic genre in constant transformation, a story of "vandalized cinema" that finds origin in the practices both of art and cinema and in the manipulation of the images on the web.
With the three Turbo Film Guerra e Pace (30 ', Russia 2018), BLACK RAIN (12' 20 '', Lampedusa 2010) and 2012 (13 '30' ', Paris 2012), Alterazioni Video leads us into a subtle and provocative investigation of contemporary visual culture, between the contradictions and paradoxes related to the production and distribution of images. An immediate and disruptive interrogation of the images themselves that reveals potentialities and failures, capable of overturning the reality to open up new perspectives.
Guerra e Pace, the latest Turbo Film by Alterazioni Video, proposed in an original version specially adapted for Bergamo, brings together the themes of fake news, the ambiguity of the images and our ability to recognize the true from the false. Shot in Russia, but not without references to the current Italian context, Guerra e Pace is an exercise of awareness, a complaint of the mechanisms by which generalized beliefs are built, between decay and power, the aridity of content and the manipulation of the imaginaries that characterize our present time.
